Beef with Grated Coconut (Dendeng ragi)
Spiced Braised Beef (Bumbu rudjak)
6 servings
 | 1 1/2 pound stew meat |
 | 1 tbs. vegetable oil |
 | 1 cup coconut milk |
 | 2 hot red peppers sliced diagonally
(or 1 tsp ground chili pepper) |
 | 1 tsp. shrimp paste |
 | 1 tbs. tamarind juice or lemon juice |
 | 1 large onion sliced |
 | 2 cloves garlic chopped |
 | salt and pepper to taste |
Wash the meat and drain. Brown onion
and garlic in oil, then add all other ingredients and beef. Simmer 20-30 minutes, or until
beef is tender.
